Carry Customer Data from Screen to Screen
ESC has the ability to carry a customer’s information from screen to screen. This is easy to do and will help save you time by not having to search for a customer over and over again. The process is simple if you know which links to use.
To carry the customer data from one screen to another use the current record bar located directly above the main data entry screen. This bar contains links that will bring the currently selected customer to other related screens.
For example: If you bring up a customer in the Qualification screen and click on the Customer link, ESC will display the customer's information on the Customer Information screen so that it can be edited as needed. To create a dispatch for that same customer just click the Dispatch link and the customer's information is already displayed for you. This is a great time saver.
A couple of things to note about this capability:
- Clicking the Activities button will display additional options that will also allow you to carry information to other screens.
- Using any of the other toolbars will not carry customer information from screen to screen. This can be a major benefit if you need to work on different customers on different screens at the same time.
- ESC will not close the initial screen that contained the customer record when you click on a short-cut that carries the information to a new screen. Both screens will now be open and available with that customer’s data displayed.
- You can use this feature even if you just saved a record and it cleared the screen. ESC will remember the last record you saved on that screen and allow that customer to be carried over in this fashion. This will only work if the screen has not been closed since the save occurred.
